Who is Orange Coffee?  

Orange Coffee aka Katty "Kat" Rodriguez is a beautiful multitalented, Grammy-winning complete musician in all of its many splendors. She is an incredible singer, saxophonist, songwriter, vocalist, and educator. Kat Rodriguez started playing music at the age of 10, on a clarinet that her dad bought from a crackhead because that's what they could afford. Kat went on to study at the Harlem School of the Arts while attending the Prestigious LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts. She got her B.A at the New School and her Masters in Teaching at Lehman College.

      In 2006 Kat was one of 1000 girls who auditioned and got hand-picked by Beyoncé herself. Since then, Kat has also performed with the likes of Kathy Sledge, Destiny's Child, Kelly Clarkson, Jay-Z, Charlie Persip's Big Band, Kanye West, JJ Hairston And Youthful Praise, Jill Scott, Jazmine Sullivan, Fantasia, George Michaels, Shirley Caesar, Missy Elliot, Ray Santos's Big Band, H.E.R, The Chicks, Gladys Knight, Erykah Badu, Common and Ciara to name a few. 

Kat has recorded with Destiny’s Child, Mark Ronson, Mobb Deep, Beyonce, Kierra Sheard, Anthony Hamilton, 50 Cent, The Dixie Chicks, Billy Porter, Jon Batiste and Kelly Clarkson. 

   After 5 world tours with Beyonce, Kat became one of the speakers for the BeyGood foundation which does musical outreach programs in communities all over the world. In 2014 Kat took a personal break from touring and she co-directed and took on what would be her second love, TEACHING. She became the co-director of an after-school program that would service over 1000 students per year. Diving into music education, Kat got her Master's in Teaching and got NYS certified. She has since taught at JFK HS and at Brooklyn College. In 10 years, Kat created a curriculum she was proud of sharing across the nation, called Body Movement which she has brought to Berklee, Loyola, Kansas City, Oklahoma, and North Eastern Universities.  In 2021, Orange Coffee made her debut and Kat divided her teaching endeavors with gigging by taking on a different stage name Orange Coffee. Since then Orange Coffee has performed at Denver Comes Alive with Super Sonic Shorties and Nikki Glaspie. She has headlined the prestigious Birdland Theater and Snug Harbor selling these Gems out. On March 21st, 2023, Kat went back on tour with the icon herself Beyonce for The Renaissance Tour/Movie. 

Orange Coffee released her new album Things Change on Aug 2.2024 which is making waves around the globe! The one thing I'm always striving for is growth because THINGS CHANGE! OUT ON ALL PLATFORMS!!!!
